BMS Spotlight on Learning:

This week we would like to shine our BMS Spotlight on Mrs. Justine Currie. Last week, Mrs. Currie, parent volunteer, worked with other parent volunteers to decorate our BMS display cases. Mrs. Currie took this to the next level by paying tribute to our past, present, and future, as well as reaching out to community members for artifacts that reveal a glimpse of our past. Well done Mrs. Currie! You exceeded our expectations.

Assistant Principal Search Update:

Last week our Assistant Principal Search committee interviewed a number of candidates for our Assistant Principal position. The committee included parents, administrators, cluster teachers, allied art teachers, and staff members. The next steps will include 2nd round of interviews with the BPS Administrative team and a 3rd and final round of the candidate spending time with our learning community during the school day. We are currently in the process of scheduling the 2nd round of interviews.

PTO Meeting and Parent Aspen Help Workshop:

Following our October 7, 2019 PTO meeting (7:00 pm - 8:30 pm) we will be conducting a Parent Aspen Help Workshop. This workshop’s primary goal/focus is to familiarize parents with the ins and outs of Aspen. Some of the topics discussed will be how to view your child’s current grades/scores, how to see your child’s assessment data, how to see your child’s teachers’ Aspen pages (homework/assignments/etc.), as well as answer any questions you may have. Prior to the workshop it will be helpful if you have your Aspen parent login information. If you need this information please email x2help@barringtonschools.org.

BMS Seeking Crossing Guards:

If you are interested in serving as a paid BMS Crossing Guard during the morning and/or afternoon, please contact Doug Fiore at 245-5000 or fiored@barringtonschools.org. Position entails approx. 10 hours per week at $15.45/hr.  We are hopeful that the additional crossing guards will aid in the safety of our students coming and leaving campus. Thank you for considering.

BMS Office Information:

The BMS Office is open daily from 8:00 am until 3:45 pm.  As always, students need a note from home given to the office before homeroom on days when they will be dismissed early.  We are very impressed by the number of students, especially 6th graders, that have followed our procedure and come to the office on their own to meet their parents for dismissal!  Well done!
